Consumer Literature and Coverage Mapping

SITUATION
Metrocall acquired AT&T’s Paging/Messaging division, which included the rights to all AT&T promotional materials developed for that division. We had a working knowledge of the AT&T information/ coverage mapping system and application of AT&T corporate identity elements to a variety of AT&T promotional and communication materials.

OBJECTIVE
To transition all the current AT&T promotional and communication materials to reflect the new Metrocall identity system while retaining consumer loyalty.

SOLUTION
A two phased implementation of Metrocall’s new identity. Phase #1 – the coverage map system was updated using Metrocall’s corporate standard colors and fonts. All other collateral materials retained the old AT&T system (grid, fonts etc.) but were clearly labeled as “AT&T paging now Metrocall”. Phase #2 – the Metrocall corporate collateral materials were redesigned specifically to carry the coverage map information graphics and to project Metrocall’s mature corporate identity system.

RESULTS
The information mapping system maintained its role as a vital part of the new Metrocall promotional and communication package. The coverage map system significantly influenced the application of Metrocall’s corporate identity, resulting in a more dramatic and cohesive display of product information to the consumer.
